From a lifestyle of sitting long hours in offices and cars, our hips can become chronically tightened. This can lead to misalignment of the hips, pelvis, and spine which may cause pain. Fortunately, the benefits from “hip opening” yoga poses/asanas can relieve this muscular tension. With practice, one can increase mobility, develop better posture and relieve pain in the lower back and knees. Outside of our physical habits, the muscles around the hips are often tight in response to habitual environmental, emotional and mental stresses. Through systematic stretching of the hips, you can release this stored stress and calm the mind.

SPRING YOGA DETOX

Welcome the New Season with a Fresh and Clean Approach!
Take advantage of the new and fresh aspects of Spring by cleaning the most important home of all- YOU BODY! Detoxing during the spring solstice is especially beneficial because winter tends to cause stagnation and heaviness. But now that Spring is here, it is the perfect time to shed that winter coat.
In this ALL-LEVELS Spring Detox Yoga Sequence Tina will focus on Physical Postures (Asanas) and Breathing Exercises (Pranayamas) that activate and purify the digestive systems, boost the immune system and stimulate the lymphatic system to detox the mind and the body.
We will begin by building heat in the body as we twist through vigorous Asanas and Pranayamas. This will allow us to flush away the toxins that we build from a sedentary life-style, bad food, alcohol and sugar. Next Tina will guide you through a meditation session to purify the mind. Finally we will finish our workshop with a wonderful cup of Ayurvedic Detox Tea as Tina Discusses techniques that will help you to continue detoxing at home.

Running builds muscle strength and burns fat. It keeps your heart and lungs strong, blood pressure in check and reduces the risk of heart attack. However, runners are all too familiar with pulled muscles and joint pain that accompany training. inevitably, if we continue to pound the pavement we will get injured! If you cannot run and end up substituting workouts on a bicycle for running, almost invariably you will end up losing running speed and endurance. Excessive training in any sport often exaggerates imbalances in the body which can, over time, cause injuries due to repetitive motion in your sport
Many runners resist practices such as yoga because they are typically the type of athletes who want to exert the max amount of energy and they crave that “runners high.” However, in this workshop Tina will help you prevent injuries by guiding you to bring balance to your body. She will emphasize on opening the hips, hip flexors, quads, glutes, hamstrings, calves, IT band, and feet. Additionally, Tina will focus on core strength/stability and breathing.

A Delicious & Healthy Cleanse With a Yogic Twist

Curious about cleanses? How can you do one without starving or depriving yourself? In this workshop, Tina will educate and inspire you to create a healthier lifestyle with the goal being something that you can live with, not something you just start and stop. Tina will provide you with all the information you need to successfully incorporate whole foods as well as purge the foods that are no longer serving you with proper nutrition. Additionally, she will provide the information you need to both prepare yourself for the cleanse as well as what is needed to maintain the cleanse. You will receive a sample grocery list, recipes and a list of do’s and don’ts to help keep you going. Workshop includes a 90 minute discussion on preparation for the cleanse and a 75-minutes twist themed Yoga practice.

You’ve heard so much about yoga, you know it’s supposed to be great for you by making make you fit, flexible, focused and stress free. But, if you don’t know where to begin, if your doing it right, or even know what yoga is, let Tina guide you to learn the basics in an intimate, safe, and non- competitive environment.
In this two hour friendly workshop we will explore some of the basic postures, breathing and meditation techniques that make up the practice of Hatha Yoga.
During this workshop, Tina will also demonstrate poses and techniques, then inspire you to try it yourself while receiving immediate feedback and adjustments. She’ll encourage your questions as they also serve to help others in the class gain a deeper understanding.
Students will leave with a basic understanding of proper alignment and technique, and will be prepared for most beginner and all level classes. So, feel free to indulge in the new student special: $150 for 30 days!
